Examinations and Grading

The typical grading system in France is based on a maximum score of 20 points, so that exams are usually passed as soon as the score reaches 10/20 or higher.

Within the Faculty of Science and Technology of Université Lyon 1, the final grade obtained for a teaching unit may be the result of a weighted average of different grades obtained along the semester (contrôle continu), or of a single final examination. Depending on the teaching unit, either of the two options are adopted.
